Our third Copperfox Photo Show of the year received just under 100 entries, all with the theme of a Riding Outdoors. It was great to see so many images taken outside in the fresh air, complete with dramatic backgrounds provided by the world around you. It really make us want to go travelling, to see all these wonderful places in person!
Firstly, I would like to say a HUGE well done and thank you to everyone who entered. It's great that you have taken part in this little competition and I hope you enjoyed creating your entries.
So, now comes the exciting bit. There can only be one winner of our photo show a month, so who is it this time? The Winner of our April Photo Show is:
This entry really stood out. Not only does the whole scene look real, and make you look twice, there is lots of details packed into the setup. From the customised Copperfox Exmoor ponies, to handmade dolls and tack, it looks like the riders are out for a hack, enjoying the ourdoors. Tthere are even two dogs in the scene too- complete with a basket of goodies (a picnic maybe). The tack fits both horses well, as do the riders. The real in situ background suits the scene and you can really imagine them escaping the city for a bit of peace and quiet amongst the pine trees and forest paths. Well done!
We loved the impact of this entry. It made it think of an eventer galloping past spectators, in a bit of a blur, hoofs flying and thundering over the grass course. The rider has a good position and the correct attire for the discipline- and she hasn't dropped the reins either which is always a bit of fun, as Performance show-ers know! Well done!
We really liked this entry for it's use of natural materials and objects you can find in your garden. Rocks, make the perfect pathway for a trail ride, garden plants look like exotic trees and small flowers add a splash of colour. Both horses are wearing tack that fits well and the riders are scaled to the horses. Well done!
The timing of this picture makes it amazing! How many times, we wondered, did it take to get the splash just right? Either way, it looks fabulous and compliments the overall scene, of an eventer tackling a water obstacle at a three day event, like Burghley or Badminton. Finnigan looks like he enjoys water too (and the splashing!) Well done!
There is such a wonderful colour to this image. It made us think of sunset rides over stubble fields amongst the English Countryside, just as summer is ending and Autumn is about to begin. The horse, rider and tack is absolutely beautiful, with everything fitting well. Well done!
We had to include this artistic image of a horse and rider outdoors! It's brilliant! The blurred background really focuses your attention onto the rider and her spirited horse, who looks like he has just seen something or heard in the distance. Well done!
We loved this entry for capturing a moment in time; the girl on the bike has stopped to look at the beautiful horses riding past. The tack fits the horses correctly, as do both riders. The horses look like they are having a great time too, so all elements of this entry blend together nicely. Well done!
This time around, we wanted to give some extra awards for pictures that were the "Judges Favourite". Here they are! Some fabulous pictures of models enjoying their time outside and in the elements- quite literally! I think that a model horse should visit the beach and see the sea at least once..!!
A big, BIG thank you to everyone who entered and taking part in our monthly Photo Show. Keep on being creative and taking pictures of your models, and remember that practice makes perfect! The more pictures you take, the better your entry will become.
Our theme for May is a "Create a Scene" so get your thinking caps on and see what you can create.
Be creative, Let your imaginaton run wild and most importantly, have fun!
