Meet Winston, our new Copperfox Shire Horse

No hour of life is lost that is spent in the saddle
— Winston Churchill

The 12th January 2018 sees the release of the "Darkest Hour" film in UK cinemas, which is a movie based upon Winston Churchill and his early days as Prime Minister during World War II. This seemed a fitting date to unveil his model namesake, the newest horse mould to join the Copperfox model range, Winston the Shire Horse.

Sculpted by the phenomenal Kelly Savage, the British talent behind our Welsh Cob mould, Winston captures the pure power, strength and presence of the Shire horse breed, as well their gentleness, nobility and grace they are known for too.

Please scroll down to see the pictures, which I'll let do the talking. Isn't he fabulous?!! Just click on the image(s) to make them bigger. These images are of the original sculpture, taken by Kelly.

Winston is currently being cast into resin and a limited number of resin copies will be available shortly. We are aiming to have both UK and US sources for the resins. The plastic version is slated for release in October 2018 (although sooner, if we re-home all our new models!)

We are so pleased to welcome Winston to the Copperfox Herd and would like to thank Kelly Savage once again for bringing him to life for us. We've wanted a British Shire for the range for some time, especially after personally owning Shire horses. The pictures below, are of our Shires Harold and Gilbert, who both worked for Harrods before coming to live with us in the countryside. I have a feeling we might have to get a couple Winston's customised into a Harry and Gilbert for our own personal collection!! Hmm, more shelves needed then!
